Leadership and Management
WJEC is led by a Board of Directors and Senior Management Team.
The board of directors consists of 6 local authority representatives and 6 commercial representatives. The members of the board have been carefully selected due to their diverse backgrounds and experience in the public and private sector.
The board is primarily responsible for setting the vision and values for the organisation. The board acts on behalf of stakeholders and works closely with WJEC’s Senior Management Team to implement new policies, strategies and activities. This is to ensure that the organisation continues to work towards its short and long term objectives and vision.
The Senior Management Team is led by WJEC Chief Executive, Gareth Pierce and consists of key representatives from each department within the organisation. Departments are as follows:
- Assessment Delivery
- Human Resources
The Senior Management Team's responsibilities include the development and implementation of the strategy and company policies, key decision making and overseeing daily operations within the organisation.
