Certificates

How certificates are issued

Exam certificates are normally issued to schools and colleges within 10 weeks of the publication of results. It is up to the school or college to determine the most appropriate method of distributing the certificates to students.

Awaiting a certificate? Please contact your school or college, however, your school or college is only obliged to store your unclaimed certificate for up to one year from the date of issue.

If you would like to replace a certificate because it has been lost, stolen, damaged or not collected, you can apply for either:

A Certifying Statement of Results:

This is not a copy of the original certificate, but an alternative certificate. WJEC certificate stationery is used which has an official WJEC hologram proving its authenticity and is universally accepted.

A Letter of Confirmation:

Before you apply, please check with the organisation requesting confirmation of your qualifications that a letter of confirmation will be accepted by them.
