Our MFL specifications have been accredited by Ofqual
We are pleased to announce that all our reformed Modern Foreign Languages qualifications (GCSEs, AS and A levels in French, German and Spanish for first teaching from September 2016), have been accredited by Ofqual.
"Each specification was developed in collaboration with teachers and tailored towards the needs of students. Our specifications are engaging and challenging, and are supported by a range of resources." Amanda Roberts, MFL Subject Officer.
"Our specifications will encourage students to become 'hands-on' linguists, to converse confidently by discussing a range of topical issues." Karl Sage, MFL Subject Officer.
Our GCSE (9-1) specifications include opportunities to develop confident communication skills based on relevant topics such as Youth Culture and World of Work. They have been developed with progression to our AS and A level specifications in mind. These latter specifications allow students to enhance their linguistic knowledge and cultural understanding of the language through the study of personal, social, intellectual, historical and political themes.
Resources to support the delivery of the new qualifications
To support the delivery of each specification we are developing a suite of digital resources covering vocabulary development, listening and reading skills. We are also producing comprehensive guidance for teachers. All digital resources can be found on the Eduqas MFL qualification pages.
Further, our GCSE (9-1) qualifications are supported by a student textbook. The textbooks offer engaging and relevant content and provide comprehensive coverage of the Eduqas themes and sub-themes, incorporating all of the new exam components. Order your copy here.
