Chauvan Harding discusses how she’ll be working to support Eduqas centres as the newest member of our Regional Support Team:
“I’ve just started in my role at Eduqas as Regional Representative for Business, Computing and Economics. I’m excited to be supporting centres and teachers teaching these qualifications.
I have 17 years of experience in the classroom teaching Business education. I’ve held several roles during that time, such as Vocational lead, Second in faculty and Head of department. I also continue to work part time as a Lecturer of Business education and lead PGCEs in Business Education and Business Education and Computing courses.
My role as a Regional Rep is to guide new centres in transitioning to Eduqas, and to provide ongoing support to existing centres using our specifications.
The team is made up of former teachers dedicated to assisting those delivering Eduqas qualifications. This might involve responding to emails from teachers, holding online meetings with both new and experienced teachers, providing on-site support or representing Eduqas at conferences and similar events.
A typical day will include a mix of face-to-face and online meetings with centres, but it varies a lot! When I’m working from home, my day usually includes contacting centres, responding to emails, answering calls from teachers needing quick assistance, and hosting virtual meetings with centres, or subject networks. I also travel to centres for in-person meetings to provide on-site support and deliver training.
What’s impressed me most about Eduqas so far is their commitment to providing this support. Everyone is really passionate about education, and the level and quality of support given to teachers is really unique. For example, the brilliant range of free teacher and student resources on offer.
