We've been catching up with teachers at schools and colleges around the UK to find out how teaching with Eduqas is working for them and their learners. Ali Wareham, Head of A-level Physical Education at Peter Symonds College in Winchester, shares her experience:

"There are 8 of us in the team here at Peter Symonds College, and we teach around 220 learners per year.

We’ve been with Eduqas for the last five years, and our learners have responded very well – they enjoy the course and are fully engaged.

The specification for A-Level PE was what attracted us to Eduqas in the first place, and the varied and vocational non-exam assessment element has proven to be inspiring for our learners. The written exams are well structured, too.

Perhaps most importantly, we’ve always found it to be a fair qualification - it provides students who work hard with the opportunity to succeed.

The support from Eduqas has been excellent. Their staff are easily accessible and provide logical responses, and we’ve benefitted a lot from the resources available, such as past papers, mark schemes and examiner reports.

The assistance with providing ‘Plan B’ exams under the conditions of the last few years has been helpful too - for example, the training around Teacher Assessed Grades was very useful.

Overall Eduqas is a professional, well run, fair exam board that provides the support needed to effectively deliver the course to learners and provide significant opportunities for their success."
