Meet the Rep: Dave Jones

Eduqas Regional Representative Dave Jones discusses his wealth of experience in education and his current role in supporting Eduqas teachers as a member of the Eduqas Regional Support Team:

"Before becoming a college lecturer in the early 1990s, I worked in fields as diverse as accounting, logistics, and horticulture, but it was in education that I found my vocation. Over my career I’ve delivered and managed a variety of courses from KS4 to first degree and Initial Teacher Training, primarily focusing on A-levels in the Humanities subjects.

I was a Senior Examiner and Senior Moderator at another large exam board for many years. I continue to examine for Eduqas in AS/A Level Geography and GCSE Religious Studies. 

The role of Regional Representative gives me the privilege of meeting with teachers both in person across the country and online to provide support, advice, and guidance on our various qualifications.  

I find great joy in visiting a wide variety of educational settings and find it particularly fulfilling when a meeting successfully aids teachers in delivering their subjects more effectively. After all, we’re all working towards the same goal: ensuring that students get the opportunity to realise their full potential. 

I am currently the Humanities specialist on the Regional Support team, focusing on History, Geography, Religious Studies, Psychology, Sociology, Law and Criminology. 

I’m proud to work for Eduqas. Our wonderful subject teams have produced superb qualifications with fair and accessible assessments at their core, supported by a wealth of excellent resources. This foundation makes my job, and the job of my colleagues on the Regional Support Team, much easier.”
