T Levels are a workplace-focused alternative to A Levels created in partnership with employers. They offer 16–18-year-olds in England the opportunity to develop technical and practical skills for careers in industry.
Each T Level is a 2-year course equivalent to three A-Levels, consisting of three components:
- a set of core topics which all learners must study
- a specialism, which learners must choose from a range of options
- an industry placement of at least 45 days
T Level learners spend 80% of the course in the classroom or workshop, and 20% in the workplace.
Learners will also continue developing English, Maths and digital skills during the qualification.

T Levels are designed to provide young people with the knowledge, skills and attitudes to thrive in the modern workplace.
They can help learners take their next steps into skilled employment, apprenticeships or higher education.
