Key Features
- Simple qualification structures minimise the number of assessments students are required to complete.
- Clear, straightforward specifications that set out what students need to know, understand and be able to do.
- A minimum of 60% non-examination assessment (NEA), providing students with the opportunity to demonstrate their skills, knowledge and understanding through practical and engaging tasks.
- Mark-based awarding - this means that learners can still achieve the qualification if they don’t perform well in a particular assessment, providing their performance in another unit compensates for this.
- Course Companion textbook available for each qualification covering the knowledge and skills learners will need as they progress through the course.
Our Level 3 Applied Qualifications are designed for post-16 learners.
They offer learners a vocational alternative, or supplement, to AS and A Level qualifications.
Each can be studied as a Certificate, equivalent to 50% of an A Level, or as a Diploma, equivalent to an A Level.
Eduqas Level 3 qualifications are designed to provide learners with the knowledge, understanding and skills to support their progress to higher education or employment in their chosen field.
We offer the following Level 3 Applied Qualifications:
- Level 3 Medical Science
- Level 3 Food Science and Nutrition
- Level 3 Criminology
- Level 3 Health and Social Care
Reforming our Level 3 Qualifications for 2025/26
In response to DfE’s review of post-16 qualifications at level 3 in England, we are currently reforming our applied qualifications in Criminology, Food Science and Nutrition, Health and Social Care and Medical Science.
Eduqas is working in partnership with industry experts EAL to redevelop the T Level in Building Services Engineering for Construction for first teaching in September 2025.
T Levels are a workplace-focused alternative to A Levels created in partnership with employers. They offer 16–18-year-olds in England the opportunity to develop technical and practical skills for careers in industry.
